Written by John Lennon and Yoko Ono in 1971, "Happy Xmas (War Is Over)" is a protest song about the Vietnam War. It's such a nice little jam. My only qualm is that it perpetuates the atrocious abbreviation of Christmas. But just as the war is history, so is the original rendition of the song. Why listen to a Beatle sing when you can listen to the sultry voice of Adam Levine? I suppose a little reverence for the dead might be in order, so RIP John Lennon. You did a lot of cool things.
